The Highest Standard

The most advanced diagnostic CT capabilities in North County

Our Lightspeed VCT represents the latest in state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging. VCT (which stands for “Volume CT”) captures exceptionally high quality images, usually in about 10 seconds. This astonishing speed is ideal for enhanced patient comfort and convenience, while achieving industry leading resolution with minimal or no motion artifacts. In fact, its speed ensures nearly all patients can be scanned with optimal outcomes, including children and those with difficulty breathing. VCT scans at InnerVision are performed for:

Head

To visualize both anatomy and perfusion/blood flow to the brain. This test is typically used to detect brain tumors, diseases, or disorders, as well as bleeding, brain injury and ruptured or leaking aneurysm in a patient with a sudden, severe headache. It is also used to evaluate the extent of bone or soft tissue damage in patients with facial trauma, and planning surgical reconstruction.

Neck

Ideal for visualizing the soft tissues of the neck, VCT is frequently used to study a lump or mass in the neck, or to look for enlarged lymph nodes or glands. This test images the spine, airway, carotid vessels and other vasculature, as well as the salivary and thyroid glands.

Chest

Lung Scan

Thoracic CT is used to show disorders of the heart, lungs and upper abdomen. It can help diagnose the cause of clinical signs or symptoms of disease, such as cough, shortness of breath, chest pain or fever. It can also be used to detect and evaluate the extent of tumors that arise in the chest or that have spread there from other areas of the body.

Abdomen & Pelvis

Provides outstanding visualization of the body’s major organs, including the ability to detect subtle abnormalities in the kidneys, aorta, and more. It is typically used to help diagnose the cause of abdominal or pelvic pain, and to quickly identify infections, inflammatory conditions, cancer, aortic aneurysm and more.

Upper/Lower Extremity

A test to detect vascular or musculoskeletal disorders in the hands, arms, and shoulders (upper extremities) or the hips, legs, ankles and feet (lower extremities). The test can help identify and quantify problems such as DVT (deep vein thrombosis), peripheral artery disease muscle/soft tissue injuries and more.

Cardiac CT Angiography

An excellent test to accurately depict artery size and blood flow without the risk of cardiac catheterization. CT Angiography is considered to be an excellent alternative to cardiac catheterization in certain defined clinical situations. The 20 minute procedure depicts artery size and blood flow, and does not require a hospital stay. It is ideal for patients with specific types of chest symptoms or a failed stress test—especially when the likelihood for an angioplasty is low. In addition, it can be used for patients who have coronary stents or bypass grafts to verify that the arteries are still open and functioning properly. CT Angiography is available only by physician referral.
